"be careful what you wish for"
Is this the most annoying, lazy and stupid statement mad by pundits and BFS lovers?

I mean it doesn't really make sense when you think about it.

All of us that 'wish' Sam would fuck off would also 'wish' that a better manager was put in his place.

We ain't wishing for him to fuck off and then be replaced by a Roeder type are we?

Stupid cunts.

Re: "be careful what you wish for"
13 Brentford, Swansea and Southampton managers have a much better infrastructure to work under so you are comparing chalk with cheese if you comparing us to them, ironically Palace are moving to replicate them and was a factor as to why Pulis left them. QPR would be a good club to compare us to off the pitch In recent years and if you do it paints a different picture.

Changes have been made at the club but not enough to seriously believe we are in better shape off the pitch than we were 10 years ago, the current owners could easily be accused of window dressing us for a big sale with little worry with what is actually instore with the lack of direction with the club.

It will take more than a change of manager to push this club on and if the next appointment is not a BFS clone then I confidently predict we will crying out for one within 12 months.
Before anyone says look how much the owners have invested, yes in the 1st team but very little elsewhere and that is the problem we face under them.

The board have done well for us within the restrictions we operate under but we are kidding ourselves if we think getting rid of BFS and suddenly everything is wonderful, so the board need to step and show the same investment in our future that are demanding from us fans.

Re: "be careful what you wish for"
This season could easily be a debacle if they don't appoint the right manager.

Most on here welcomed Zola and Grant. It's only in hindsight that people realised what a disaster they were as appointments.

These lot parroting the same lame saying over Andover again shows how little they actually know. They like BFS because he's an insider, and as at as they're concerned we are an outside club. Fuck them. I'll LOVE seeing them proved wrong.

Re: "be careful what you wish for"
The cosy mostly ex yid players related media mates really don't want challenging the top 4 do they? Well they will have to get ready for 50,000 plus fans in East London every other week managed by a manager who will be aiming for the top 4 and Europe.

At least we will give it go.

Re: "be careful what you wish for"
So Swansea who came up a year after us and have a novice manager finish above us AGAIN despite spending much less money.

Southampton who came up with us and have a novice Premiership manager and sold half their team finish above us AGAIN despite spending much less money.

Crystal Palace who came up 2 years after us and have changed managers every six months finish above us AGAIN despite spending much less money.

Stoke finish above us AGAIN despite losing "Mr safety" himself Pullis and spending much less money.

Allardyce is not as good as the pundits claim in reality!

All smaller clubs than us but we are not allowed to try and finish above them and appoint a better manager?

Effectively the media are urging West Ham to be no better than being able to win 3 games in 20 while being happy with it.

Fantastic.

Thats like saying that you hoped we would get relegated when he was in charge, to validate your opinion. An equally moronic suggestion.

There are many cases of clubs who had achieved a certain level of consistency with a certain manager, only to fail massively once that manager left - Charlton being the obvious example. On the flip side a lot of clubs have been able to move forward. Of course it all depends on who comes in.

There will be a lot of people on here hoping dearly that we get relegated in order to validate their opinion of their hero

Re: "be careful what you wish for"
So next season we'll be EVEN worse and finish EVEN lower, won't bother going at all then seeing as the MOTD experts say we'll go down.

Re: "be careful what you wish for"
As I posted on the another thread to get what we all wish for is more than appointing a new manager it is about the whole infrastructure of the club.

In the old days the manager be it John Lyall or Ron Greenwood could stamp their whole identity throughout the football club and run it top to bottom with anything football related.

Nowadays very few managers get that remit and their role is more specific mainly getting results on the pitch. At the well run clubs everything continues regardless of who is manager but equally he enjoys the benefits of this approach.

As a club we have neglected the Academy of investment only doing the bare minimum and the same applies to the training facilities.
Instead of saying how many youngsters did Allardyce bring through why not ask the same about the current board under them?

The Dave's are only interested in investing short term in the 1st Team to manitain their investment and cash in once we move to the Olympic Stadium, the problem is with this approach means there is no long term plans in place just short term fixes and that is exactly what I expect the next appointment to be.
